Little Steps of Progression

Caymen has been moved from the ICU to the progressive unit. He is still sleeping most of the time and doing better. When he wakes up he is still groggy, and the doctors want him to become more alert and aware of his surroundings.

Caymen will be evaluated by physical and speech therapists to determine his motor responses and his ability to swallow. He has not yet eaten anything on his own. He needs to eat within the next twenty four hours or so, otherwise they have to put in a feeding tube. His head still hurts pretty bad and they cannot sedate him anymore, because it suppresses his motor skills. These are normal responses for this type of injury.

We know Caymen does have four (originally thought two) skull fractures, which will eventually heal on their own. His left eyes is bruised and swollen shut; this will also heal on its own. He does not have any other broken bones or internal injuries we are aware of at this time.

We are encouraged with each step of progression along this road to Caymen's complete recovery and restoration. Please continue to pray for Caymen to begin to eat on his own and to become increasingly more aware and awake.

We cannot adequately express how thankful we are for God's grace and each and everyone of your prayers! We serve a mighty and awesome God!

Again we thank everyone for the prayers and support, and visiting hours are from 5-7 pm and depend upon Caymen's condition at the time.

Please continue to remember the many other children in the hospital who are in need of prayer. There is a one year old girl who was hit by a vehicle, while her parents were taking her for a walk in her stroller. All of her bones from the waist down are broken, her brain is swelling, and she has an infection. The child's name is Nobale. Her parents are young and do not know the Lord. Please pray for the purpose of God in this family and that the Lord would show himself in a powerful way to the parents. With the power of God the miraculous can happen!
